Linguistique pour germanistes

Feuillets

Given that this volume is designed as a "guide" covering the basics of German linguistics, with an illustrative rather than an exhaustive approach so as not to be too technical, a rather unusual format was required. On several occasions, the reader will find paragraphs printed in smaller characters which serve the following purpose. If the paragraphs are relatively long, they provide detailed coverage of a topic dealt with in the section in which they appear. In this case, the reader can omit them during a first reading and then come back to them later. If, on the other hand, they are brief, consisting of only a few lines, there are two possibilities: either they are a digest of a development which is fully covered where they appear, or they are comparing French and German linguistic terminology where they conflict and can lead to misunderstanding. In these cases, they are intended as a terminological aide memoire.
