Fascist corporatism abroad. Circulations, receptions, hybridisations

The question of corporatism has recently experienced a significant rediscovery by historiography thanks to a series of investigations on the emergence, during the inter-war period, of corporative projects around the world, which aimed at reconfiguring the relationship between the state and socio-economic interests, as well as the interactions and reciprocal influences, from a comparative approach, between these various national initiatives. The adoption of corporative legislation and institutions was in fact fostered by a wide transnational circulation of ideas, theories and experiences, among which the model coming from Fascist Italy played a key role. Based on this renewed interest in the topic, this special issue offers a series of insights into the circulation, reception and forms of influence and hybridisation within this "corporative laboratory". To draw an overall picture and, at the same time, put forward new research hypotheses, these essays propose several investigations on various European and non-European cases, specifically around the following thematic issues: the political and intellectual circles that were most receptive to the Fascist corporatism option; the ideological and programmatic convergences between far-right political movements, but not only; the influence and legacy of the Italian model on the evolution of corporative theories and policies, even after the fall of the Fascist regime.
