Depuis 1981, elle a connu des temps forts de pilotage mais aussi des temps de désintérêt ministériel. La lutte contre l&#8217;échec scolaire, objectif premier et majeur, concernait tous les territoires, qu&#8217;ils soient urbains ou ruraux. Les objectifs fixés ont évolué au gré d&#8217;orientations politiques variables. Cependant, elle a introduit dans le système éducatif français un certain nombre de transformations, qui ont été généralisées par la suite dans les écoles et collèges notamment. Elle a permis de nouvelles approches éducatives et professionnelles, à l&#8217;intérieur comme avec l&#8217;extérieur de l&#8217;école. La réussite scolaire de tous impliquait la mobilisation des acteurs à tous les niveaux hiérarchiques, du rectorat à l&#8217;établissement, une collaboration interdegrés mais aussi partenariale avec les acteurs locaux des champs éducatif, social et culturel. Pour illustrer la complexité et la diversité des zones d&#8217;éducation prioritaire (ZEP) devenues réseaux d&#8217;éducation prioritaire (REP), dans le temps et dans l&#8217;espace, les contributions de ce dossier s&#8217;appuyent sur des sources locales, récemment versées dans des Archives départementales. L&#8217;entretien final avec une actrice nationale de premier plan &#8211; elle a croisé cette politique tout au long de sa carrière et s&#8217;est fortement impliquée à certaines périodes &#8211; apporte des éléments complémentaires pour mieux comprendre cette politique éducative à vocation sociale.&#60;/p&#62;</Text>

The fight against school failure, the primary and major objective, concerned all territories, whether urban or rural. The objectives set have evolved with varying policy directions. However, it has introduced a number of changes into the French education system, which have since been generalized in schools and colleges in particular. It has enabled new educational and professional approaches, both inside and outside the school. The academic success of all involved the mobilization of actors at all hierarchical levels, from the rector to the establishment, an inter-degree collaboration but also partnership with local actors in the educational, social and cultural fields. To illustrate the complexity and diversity of the Priority Education Areas (ZEP in French) that have become Priority Education Networks (REP in French), in time and space, the contributions in this dossier are based on local sources, recently deposited in departmental archives. The final interview with a leading national player &#8211; she came across this policy throughout her career and was heavily involved in certain periods&#8211; provides complementary elements for a better understanding of this education policy with a social purpose&#60;/p&#62;</Text>
