The "Signes" collection includes publications in the following fields:
- research into French, European and World literature of the 20TH and 21ST centuries, as well as research into contemporary work.
- research on the relationships between literature and human sciences, between literature and the other arts and between history and the theory of modernist literature, from Romanticism to the contemporary avant-gardes, by being receptive to the question of exchanges and translation in the widest sense.
Focusing on these areas, it publishes collective works which represent the results of academic research and individual studies which are intended to become poetological reference works. It also republishes important texts which are difficult to obtain.

How can a music signify without text ? Instead of having a definite perspective, the book reconstructs the debates that happened. It elaborates families of thought and integrates the problem of the performer. Thus it opens the way to a comparative analysis of the styles, in their relation to an anthropology.
Can we feel the pain of a character in a novel ? Immersed in a fiction, a reader may experience various somatosensory feelings. Such an experience of "empathic reading" is hardly conceivable through theories of interpretation that ignore the role of the biological body.
This book has precedence and an audience in visual arts, critical studies, visual studies and esthetics but also draws on a variety of interdisciplinary texts and topics across the humanities, in literature, poetry and philosophy making it interesting to a wider audience.
This collective book deals with literary translation, be it the very experience of translating or its theory. "Literature" is considered here as a critical expression of artistic worth and a specific view on languages, both of which reveal not only the formal but also the cultural and political stakes of translation.
Using examples drawn from Quebecois, Belgian, Caribbean and African literature, this volume examines the forms and challenges of pastiche, parody and rewriting in the iconic texts of the contemporary literary scene, which they help to explain.
