Climate Change Education

The aim of the RDST 30 is to review research on climate change education, in order to understand how science and technology education fits into this landscape. Indeed, despite the long history of the first scientific warnings about climate change, climate change education is a recent and still under-theorized educational trend, emerging at the interface of science and technology education, environmental education and education for sustainable development. Research is rapidly expanding, as all levels of education are being impacted at the same time, in most countries, both in the field of formal education, as a result of more ambitious international education policies, and in the field of informal education, where initiatives are also multiplying. This journal issue also aims to describe the extent to which the climate emergency is renewing didactic questions in scientific and technological disciplines about the climate change as a scientific object, but also a socio-political one.
